In honor of Memorial Day, the DC team joined our client Communities In Schools of Jacksonville and the students of Joseph Stilwell Middle Schools at the Memorial Day Ceremony to celebrate fallen veterans as well as active-duty military members for their service to the United States.
The celebration was hosted through the nonprofit’s VetSuccess Americorps – an initiative dedicated to connecting students from military families with positive veteran and military role models who help them overcome their unique challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Almost 1,600 American flags marked with the names of Jacksonville veterans placed on the football field were picked up by students at the conclusion of the ceremony, a gesture to honor the sacrifices made by local men and women who have protected this country.
Our public relations team also worked with Will Dickey at the Florida Times Union to capture the memorable moments during the ceremony.
